Julija is an employed barrister, who specialises in all aspects of shipping contractual work. She primarily deals with Charterparties, Bills of Lading, and Bunker Supply Contracts. Her practice encompasses disputes concerning hire, laytime and demurrage, performance issues, cargo claims, sale of goods, and letters of indemnity.

She has drafted pleadings and advices to clients – both shipowners and charterers. She has also assisted in numerous arbitrations, and in High Court proceedings.

Julija was a Judicial Assistant at the High Court for three months. She was based in the Commercial Court, working for Bryan J, Jacobs J and several other judges.

Prior to joining the firm in September 2019, Julija undertook pupillage at Twenty Essex chambers, where she assisted on a broad range of general commercial and shipping matters. This included agency commissions, contracts of guarantee and various jurisdictional issues.

Julija volunteered at the Free Representation Unit in 2017, representing a client in a dispute with their former employer and successfully negotiating a settlement.
